I didn't realize people still thought you could spoil newborns by holding them. Today my neighbors DIL informed me she only ever holds her baby during feedings. Other than that its unnecessary and spoils them...her baby is just barely 2 weeks old. The conversation was sparked by the fact I came to visit and had my 3 month old in a wrap.

I really didnt say too much. I have been told that by alot of older generations but it was the last thing I expected to hear from someone a few years younger than me. (Im 26) im hoping that since this is her 1st child shes still figuring it all out.

I knew a girl who would completely ignore her two month old if she cried gor this reason. She also refused to hold her while feeding her, and got pissed when I did in the middle of the night. She had planned to ignore her and feed her in the morning. Seriously.

That is really too bad. One would think it's now very well known that infants cannot be spoiled in any way.

That's stupid.  If that's the case, when I have my baby girl, she'll most definitely be spoiled.
