How old were you when diagnosed?

how and when did you tell your parents (or other family)?

just got diagnosed with breast cancer and more scared to tell my family then the actual treatment.

I'm so sorry :(

I never have had it, but my twin did.  She told everyone right away so she could have the support she needed through treatment.

Don't be scared, they would want to be there for you I think.

:-( I'm so sorry.

I don't really have any advice. Maybe search for a support group in your area. I'm sure the people there would have tons of great advice.

Hugs!

I'm so sorry. :( I don't currently have cancer but I had melanoma at 12. It spread to my liver but thankfully it was caught in time. I did chemo and radiation, and surgery to remove the actual cancerous lesions (two moles and another growth). For 5 years I was watched very closely. Then it relaxed and then at 10 years I was considered cancer free. I still have check ups with my specialists twice a year.

I'm so sorry :(

My mom had cancer 3 times. She told immediate family from the beginning. She never sugarcoated it. I think that's probably the best way to say it. The other 2 times she hid it from everyone but my dad for a while because she chose alternative treatments.

Sorry. As far as I know I don't. My DH was diagnosed Jan 2013 with 2 forms of cancers. We spoke up and told both our families right away.

Sadly I just lost a friend to brain cancer and an aunt to liver cancer. However both of them had been battling their cancers for over 20 yrs.
