I was having a second interview with a girl. I was about to give her the job until she mentioned she has a severe airborne peanut allergy. At that point it just was not worth it for me to hire her. I dont want everyone to feel they have to tiptoe around this person. I do not want to constantly be in fear that she might have a reaction while at work. I dont want to have to worry about what i should and shouldnt bring to work or have my employees worry about it.

I know for a fact that most of them bring a pb and j, we usually have roasted peanuts around the office at any given time.

I am going to go with someone else instead

You are the one in charge of hiring new staff. Weed out the applicants as you see fit. Not sure what the issue is here.

Smart move.  I wouldn't hire someone like that either.

I probably wouldn't hire them either. When I worked, we were all crammed in cubicles in a relatively small room. Telling 20 women that they couldn't bring in pb sandwiches for lunch would have started a revolt.

Not legal. Your not hireing them based on a disability.

I'd have done the same, too much of a liability.
