No pre school.

For moms who choose not to put their kids in pre school, why not?  I don't mean moms who don't have access or can't afford it, I  mean people who could but don't want too.  What are your reasons?

We recently moved to Europe and it is very expensive here. I was quoted 28$ for only 3 hours per week! Yes we can afford that but it does not seem worth it. I have a degree in ECE and she socialises with other kids for free at the gym daycare and playground.

If youre a good parent your kid doesn't need preschool. Everyday learning is enough with some added play time with other kids.

With that said, mine went because I work full time. If I stayed home though, they wouldn't.

In our area its either headstart which has the state set income limit and if your over that income your on a waiting list if there is room. OR expensive private preschools, ussually church ran. If you fall in to the lower to middle class there is not much of an option.

I can't really remember the reason why we chose not to send our child to preschool. She went to the bridges program and that was enough.

We are going to homeschool and I don't think it's needed.

My two year old k owns all of our real names, can spell hers, knows her ABCs, can count to 20, knows all her colors, animals and shapes and can write an A so far. I think she will be just fine at being ready for kindergarten classes when we start them.

There was not one single thing preschool could teach my child that I could not. She had many friends and play dates so we did not need other people to socialize my child. And finally, I was in no hurry to have my child in school away from me. Kindy comes soon enough.
