Yeah if they want to go. My son went for 5 summers and my daughter has went for the past 4 summers.

Yes, absolutely.  My kids have gone since the 2nd grade.  It made them much better adjusted for leaving to college.  Almost every one of dd's friends who didn't go to summer camp, came home from college early.  They just couldn't handle being away from home.

I'm not voting, because I think there is more then just a simple yes or no question. I think it depends on the age of the child, maturity, what the camp is for, how long, does the kid want to go.

If they want to go, then, they should go.  I couldn't handle being away from home for a single night until I was a teenager, though.

I didn't vote. It all depends on if they want to go or not.

Weirdly worded questions. I don't think they 'should' but it can be a good decision. I spent several summers as a child at a camp for about a week or so every summer, it was a blast.

I don't think it's the end of the world if a child can't go to sleepaway camp, but if the parents can swing it, I bet it's a wonderful experience for the child and a great way for them to learn some independence.
