Seeing all these teen pregnancy posts, my dd got pregnant at 16 and this is what I did ETA

I paid for everything I could. Her job was to go to school. I watched the baby while she finished. Now she is a nurse and has a great life with her child. She's married and everything worked out. I never thought to abandon her or force her to grow up bc she made one mistake.

Eta: my dd was very mature about the situation. I never had to tell her no more partying or hanging with friends and being a normal teenager. I watched her bust her butt to do what needed to be done for the baby. Had she wanted a free ride I wouldn't have helped as much as I did. My younger dd isn't so responsible and doesn't take responsibility for her actions a lot of the time, so I'd she had come home pregnant at a young age I may have not handled it quite the same way. But still I wouldn't have abandoned her. Every single situation with every child is different.

I would do the same if she decided to keep the baby.

Mine would have an abortion. That way NO ONE is paying for that mistake.

And don't bother quoting me with pro-life bull.

I would watch the baby and take care if it while my dd finished school.

She would also get a job, I would have her take out some money for the baby and the rest would go to savings.
When she graduated and was ready to get her own place she would be awarded all the money in her account.

There is a difference between helping a teenager put themselves into the best position to parent and letting them sit around making bad decisions. I would care for my grandchild so long as their parents were honestly doing their best and doing what they could to better their futures.

There would be very specific requirements for my child if they were a teen parent. I can say that I might consider helping them, but they would be losing their college fund. Student loans it is.
