i would honestly love to have one.. by generic i mean a lot of people have it. Johnson, miller, etc. or the easier pronounced. i hate it when someone calls our phone and says is miss..... there and they're not pronoucing it the right way.. but then again i can't really blame them either.

Generic as far as pronunciation but unusual spelling so it's usually mispronounced :P (It's pronounced Lee but not spelled that way)

I have a very straightforward first and last name, yet people still mess it up.

No. My maiden name got confused a LOT. My whole life.

My married name is super common amongst Native people here but not generic in general. It gets mispronounced a lot.

Yep. Went from a common last name that was constantly either misspelled or mispronounced to my married name. Thankfully it's just my husbands first name that is always screwed up lol

Ha! Awesome question. I went from a tangly, ethnic, three-syllable maiden name with a weird accent-emphasis (just begged to be butchered!), to a super-plain married name: Willis. (And yet, I still get folks who ask me how to spell it.) :)
