I'm not allowed to have a baby shower, wtf?!

So I am 19 weeks and a friend was talking about throwing me a shower, another mom chimmed in and said it's rude and greedy for me to have a baby shower because this is my second baby.  By the time this baby arrives my son will be 7.  We have nothing as far as baby stuff goes because we gave it away to friends having babies.

Is this actually a thing?? Is there a one shower rule??

I've heard of it before. But, seeing the age difference I see no problem.

You'll get mixed responses on here.  Personally, I think that every child deserves to be celebrated.  And, seeing as you have someone willing to throw a shower for you(especially with such a large age gap); go for it momma!

if anyone thinks it's trashy or wrong, well, they don't have to attend.

That's a stupid rule.

I believe in celebrating every baby every time. Although there are some gifts I wouldn't get depending on how close in age they will be.

You definitely need a baby shower!  Our two were 7 years apart and we had absolutely nothing for baby #2 and no hand me downs to come our way.  Good luck!

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I had at least one shower for all 4 of my kids.
