Simply cannot afford the 13k tution and 2k books and school fees. Cannot afford a loan. I just finished paying off a loan. We now have zero debt. I don't feel going into debt again is a good idea. We have 3k saved. We had more but dh got sick again and now can't work. So its on me.

All the scholarships I'm finding are for native or metis. Or just graduating grade 12 students.... the only one I have found that I qulify for is only for 10k... and thay can be split between people or given to on person... the due date for it was in feb for this school yr. I could try too apply for next yr. But that means no school until fall 2015.... (which is the same thing for another *cheaper* course I'm looking at.) Sure its a criminal justice course. And I could easily make 50k with it. But a loan is still not worth it...
Judge me of you must. But if I can't get a scholarship/grant. I'm not going back to school.... (fyi I'm in canada)

I understand.  Keep saving until you have enough to attend.  GL

3 moms liked this

I think that's smart. Many people are too quick to take out student loans and then find it very difficult to pay them off.

You can apply for numerous scholarships. Many small scholarships will add up to as much or more than 1 large scholarship. I have a vast variety of aid including grants and multiple scholarships.
