Im moving into my apartment soon and i want a desk and a chair. Since i am a college student as well. I looked and itll be $70 for both. I cant swing that right now but im saving. My mother asked why the hell do i need it. It would be a BIG waste of money. Uh wtf mom? Its not like shes buying it. Right now where im living there no where to put all my papers and do work. Seriously not even a table so i have papers and everything all over the couch and have the laptop in my lap and its driving me insane.

Go to goodwill. I see nice desks there all the time.

Thrift stores have good ones for cheap, or Craig's list.

Or even just use the kitchen table for awhile.

I'm no help, I prefer to lay down while studying.

I agree, goodwill, craigslist, even Facebook.
If nothing else get like a folding or card table and a chair. More desk space and it's better than the couch.

A cheap desk and a chair at Ikea is $40 total.  That's what I got my kids.  ...if you live near an Ikea, that is. :)

I do it when I wrote papers as well, but I only need to type, I don't generally need my text books for papers so I have all my sources online.

I can definitely see how many papers everywhere would become overwhelming though.
