I was talking to some other moms and I was suprised to hear so many of them say they thought water balloons were "too violent/rough/dangerous" for childrens parties. We are talking about young kids, 4-7ish.

We just had them at SO's son's 8th birthday party a few weeks ago. Did last year too when he turned 7, I see nothing wrong with it. Only reason we don't have them for his daughter's parties is because her birthday is towards the end of October and it's winter and cold here. Lol. Otherwise we'd have them at her party too :)

We had those too. The kids got the pleasure of picking up the balloon remnants at the end of the party (SO's 2 and his niece).

Water balloons are a lot of fun....until clean up. Then, they suck. LOL

I think calling them too dangerous for a party is silly.  We've had water balloons at parties as well as squirt guns and super soakers.

As long as the kids aren't too young I think its fine.
