My mom and my male friend seem to be upset over this, but I'm not

They are a little upset that DF is going out with his friends tomorrow night.
I don't give a crap, because I don't celebrate the holiday.
But they seem to think, since we have a child, he should stay home and take Christian to see the fireworks.
He's 2.
Besides, we have a pier in our backyard, so I can just walk DS over there so he can see it and then go home.

I don't dictate when DF goes out, because I wouldn't like being told the same.

So would YOU be upset?

No, I wouldn't care. Dh didn't come with us to see fireworks for the longest time. The fire truck parade and 1000's of screaming kids aren't his thing. No biggie.

No, wouldn't bother me.  And most kids at that age aren't really that wild about fireworks anyway.

No. The 4th isn't a big deal to me either. I couldn't care less if I missed out on fireworks. I would be totally fine if dh wanted to hang out with friends tomorrow night.

If it didnt bother you why did you call and tell your mom about it in the first place, this im sure isnt the first time hes left you and DS home on these occasions. Maybe they see something you don't? Not to mention your DS is at an age that he will now enjoy the fireworks, wouldnt he want to be around to experience that with him to? SMDH!!!
