I think she's trying to point out that people tend to think larger vehicles = safer when that is not always true.

Me neither. Other than maybe they're both SUVs. But if you wreck bad enough, anything will crumple.

There is nothing wrong with public transit, but those can crash too. Anything has risk.

Sort of, but it doesn't even have to be that high a speed or that massive an impact.
