I offended my NY FIL. How do you feel about this?

He wants to implement No Smoking laws in Florida. He submitted them to local bars, thankfully he was DENIED. However I told him jokingly but serious, Don't be bringing your New York laws to Florida. But, I offended him, he didn't talk to me for a couple hours LOL.

I do not smoke, I vape. But to change a law because 21 and older patrons are at a bar drinking and hanging out with other adults, I'm tired of all the new laws trying to make us robots.

EDIT Florida does not allow smoking inrestaurants. I am talking about bars, which do not allow anyone 20 and under in.

Well, that was pretty rude. Not everyone in America enjoys smoke with their food...

You can't smoke in restaurants here. We're talking about bars. If you don't like it, then drink at home.

Maybe people should smoke at home?

I mean, smoking is kind of gross, not to mention people who have asthma would have to constantly decline invitations to public bars. Public places should cater to the greater good.

In fact, if I was to open a bar it would be smoke free.

Why can't you get cancer at home? Or outside?

There are places you can still smoke in bars?

But that is your opinion. Stop imposing on our rights. You want to smoke or drink in a bar. A bar is a place to drink and smoke for adults, not for kids. Then that is your right. Sorry but we hate New York down here, I hate that my FIL is trying to make Florida like NY, just move back up there.

This is one thing I had to get used to moving from the big city to a small town. All resturants were smoke free in the city. They aren't here. They don't even have smoking/ non smoking places. It's all open and everyone smokes. We don't eat out much.

I am a smoker and I agree with the non-smoking rules in public places like bars and restaurants. Personally, I think the only indoor place you should be allowed to smoke is in a casino specifically set aside for smokers. Or a bar specifically set aside for smokers.

You can die from a plane or a car, you could have your roof in your house cave in on you.
