I live outside rural city.  I have not had my drivers license for four years. Somehow we manage. Would you be able to?

No. A DL is a requirement of my employment.

Actually yes, I could do it.  Oddly I could walk to just about every where i need to go-kids ped is 1 mile away. Dentist 3 miles -work 3 miles (I could take a bus to either)

Supermarket one mile.  Malll 3 miles.

I have long said I could get by without a car if I wanted to.

But I need a driver's license so I could rent one for trips and vacations if I didnt own one.

I live 30 minutes from a decent grocer and an hour from my job. I definitely need it.

If you asked me over 4 years ago I would have said the same thing

That wouldn't be okay for my family. It wouldn't be something I would ever want to happen especially now that my husband quit his job to be a SAHD. I'm our only income.

Nope. I work, and I couldn't get to work without driving even though we are in a city as well.

No. We live in the country. There are no buses or any form of public transportation. Plus it's already a 45 minute drive to most doctors appointments and shopping (other than grocery).
