The weather has been unusually nice these last few days where I live. My windows have been open for 72+ hours. Luckily, I live in an area where the chances of a break in are slim to none. I was not able to do this in the city I previously lived, a big city with a VERY high crime rate...

So do you leave your windows open? Could you safely leave them open over night if you wanted to?

I would consider leaving my upstairs windows open, but only if our A/C broke.

If I lived in the country still I would but in the city there is no chance in hell I would, even though I could.

Well, it's summer in Houston, so right now, no.

But when the weather is nice I absolutely do.

I don't wory much about people breaking in.  I figure that if they want in, they will get in whether my window is open or not.

Sort of, we have window AC units.

We didn't leave them open before we installed them though.

No. My house, at the risk of sounding like a twat, is to big for that. I couldn't hear if something happened at the other end/downstairs and that makes me really uncomfortable.

Plus that is how mice/rats get in.

We do when it is cool enough. And I do live in a big city.
