They brought me the wrong kid! HELP

Posted by   + Show Post

yesterday was my sons second day of playschool. He has been doing great, and having so much fun, well, when I went to pick him up yesterday, I went to the counter and said "I need L please." The lady spoke into her walky talky that we needed L out here, and they sent "L" out... It was a another kid who shared my sons name, and he was a completely different race than me, and the lady who sent him to me was the lady who checked in my son in the first place!  WTF!!!?? I told them, this isn't my son, and they acted like it was no big deal, and sent the kid back, then finally got my kid to me. Now I am afraid this will happen to MY SON and some one will just pick him up! what can I do to keep this mix up from happening again? I was thinking about wearing matching bracellettes or changing his alias from just his name, to his name and middle name. Thoughts? has this ever happened to you? I don't want some one taking off with my kid!!!

Try using your last name. It happens in the first week of school..
If the person didn't state the last name. The kid could have just ran up so they took him to the front.
No biggie.

Never had this issue.. parents went in to pick up their own kids at the classroom door.  in preschool.  Then the parent would sign the kid out at the directors office.. before you could even get it, they gave you a passcode to enter into the door, so they were already alerted as to whom was picking up what child before you got to the class room.

non parents who went to pick up a kid, had to use the buzzer, and the director would meet them at the door, take them to their office to verify that they were indeed okayed to pick up the kid, and then escort them to the classroom to pick up the child..

if you really think the other L's mom is going to see your kid come through the door at pickup time and decide she likes yours better than hers and snatch him up, then you have some serious mental health issues.

Ask for him by first and last name next time.  I'm sure it was a simple error and won't happen again:)
