Instead of subsidizing those who simply maintain a certain income level, I suggest doing away with the EIC and giving credits for positive behaviors:

1) Not bringing a baby into an already impoverished home.
2) No babies prior to high school graduation.
3) No babies prior to a college degree, trade school, etc...
4) Graduating from college, a trade school, etc...
5) Getting off of welfare within 12 months and staying off of it for the next 12 months.

We should be rewarding good behaviors. Right now its more about rewarding negative behaviors.

Red herring and ad hominem.

She's not claiming to be perfect.

I agree. Reward the people who are trying and who have personal responsibility

I'll bet when women are conceiving a child on accident the last thing they are thinking of is tax returns.

I was never on welfare, nor do we live in proverty, and also I was a nurse before having my son but I feel like we should help those that need the help and hope they try to better themselves for their children. I also realize people make mistakes but it does not mean it is always going to be a mistake and they can make it better. I am not referring to those abusing the system but feel that is not the majority

No I am not... my first child was born while I was an unmarried college student.

That being said, why not reward persons for making positive life choices? Why would this be a bad idea?

Can I get one for never being on PA, only having one kid, having the same job since I was 17, finishing school while working full time, and no kids before high school or gainfully employed?

Lets give them reasons to think twice about sex without duel protection... or at a young age... lets incentive positive behaviors.
