who got screamed at during their childbirth?

I was in transition with my son and lost all focus, I thought I was literally going to die. I starting screaming at everyone very mean things, begging for a csection because I seriously thought I couldnt do it anymore, when out of the blue a nurse grabs my gown, looks me dead in the eyes and yelled at me "KNOCK THIS CRAP OFF, YOUR SONS HEARTBEAT KEEPS DROPPING NOW YOU HAVE TO LAY ON YOUR LEFT SIDE... THIS ISNT ABOUT YOU ANYMORE ITS ABOUT YOUR BABY!!!"

It shocked me back to realitie and made things go smoother!

Later she appologized but she says she has to do that several times a week to laboring mothers to bring them back to reality.

Anyone else get yelled at during their child birth?

No one screamed at me. I lost it a few times and my midwive, Doula and hubby were able to get me calm down before the contraction was even over. They did this nice and calmly to me.

Dh goes all drill sergeant on me every single time. I have to completely tune him out or else I would snap on him and possibly kill him.

No.

But after I said "I can't do this" over and over while trying to push dd's 9.5 lb butt out of me, the nurse said " No one said it was going to be easy. It's called 'labor' for a reason".

I wanted to slap the bitch..
