how do I tell her no?

My dh and I are going camping with just our kids and my mom is inviting herself to come up for just one day. We don't want anyone else coming, especially her. She doesn't like my dh and never has anything nice to say about him, she has this bad attitude every time she is around him. So why on earth does she even want to come is beyond me.. but it's so hard for me to just say, "no we don't want anyone else there." She will cry and whine about how much she thinks I don't love her and a whole bunch of bs.. how can I tell her no without hurting her feelings?!

Maybe say something like "are you sure you want to be with DH, how about we do lunch next week?"

You tell her no in an email or a text and then ignore all further emails,  text and phone calls from her for the immediate future.

you probably can't stop her feelings from being hurt, but you can still say that you are looking for family time

She lives across the street. Don't know how well that would work lol.

Sorry, it's just a trip for us & the kids.
And in the future, I would tell her about things like that after the fact.
