He just got a full time job. I want to be fair and not over charge him. What do you think is a fair amount for rent?

1/3 of his income or 1/3 of the rent price/mortgage payment.

depends on what a 1 br apartment would cost in your area, and what he's making hourly at his job.  I would think 20% of his takehome would be reasonable.

What will you do with the money?  Put it aside for him or use it towards household bills?  I do not know what his wages are so usually no more than 1/3 of his months take home salary.

Is it just rent or does it include food and laundry service?  Size of house by number of rooms, take that fraction of the monthly cost of your house and operating expenses, add 5%.

My mom charged me 100 a week.

That included utilities and groceries.
