would you let your child do this?

If your minor child showed a lot of potential in a sport, would you let them moved away to train? Would you let them travel around the US, with their team, and compete?

Oh man. I couldn't begin to answer that. I don't think I could be away from him that long at this age. But if it made him happy...ugh...hope I never have to decide. As of now, I'm going with no, I wouldn't.

If they really wanted to and it could really "go somewhere", I'd have to say yes. That's one of those things that 20 yrs. down the line you may regret not allowing or your kid may resent not being allowed.

Depends on the age. My 14yo, probably. My 10yo, no.

Depends on the child and the sport. If I wasnt comfortable with them going alone i would go with to the home base. and Yes i would allow them to travel to compete. I competed in high school and I loved it.
