Can you solve the riddle?

When I was 12 (I am 21 now) an elderly neighbor told me this riddle. She said she wouldn't tell me the answer but she would let me guess (and If I was right she would tell me I am right). I still haven't figured it out yet. Can you solve the riddle?

On one dark and stormy night,
Two dead men got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew two swords and shot each other.
If you dont believe this story is true,
Ask the blind man (he saw it too).

I heard that story or a different version of it a long time ago and it was one dark day in the middle of the night two dead boys got up to fight back to back they stood facing each other drew their swords and shot one another a deaf policeman heard the noise and came and shot the two dead boys.. *shrug* never thought of it as a riddle.. Just a silly tale..

That's just a funny tale we used to tell in school. Not a riddle.

The blind man told the story.

I was taught it as a silly rhyme, not as a riddle.

It is told around here as a riddle because you are supposed to figure out how the dead boys got up to fight, how they shot each other with swords, how the blind man saw it, etc.

Maybe the blind.man was telling about a dream he had.
