Would you get a job?

My son has LOTS of health issues and medical bills are piling up. We need money.

I offered to get a job and my husband say NO he is the man and the money maker. There are at least 3 places willing to hire me within walking distance, he has the car, from our house. I have a babysitter all set up, my dad and mom, and its free.

If you needed the money would you just go ahead and take a job?

ETA...My son is 10 and homeschooled, he does his schooling on the computer, which my parents have and will let him use to do his schooling.

I dont know why he is so stubborn about me getting a job, I had one before our son was born, I worked until 2 days before I had him.

Yes. I'm an adult and will do what I want and need to in order to take care of my family.

I feel like financial stability is really important, and if my husband's only reason was because "he's the man."  Yeah, I'd get a job.

Then again, I wouldn't be with someone with that mentality either.. we would totally crash...

Wish you the best!

I would tell him to grow the hell up, the money is needed and working is how one obtains more money.

I have very short tolerance for such childish views, "I'm the money maker", hogwash. He's putting his ego above your son's medical expenses and that is not okay.

Family well being before opinions. Sounds like you need to communicate with him to try to figure out what the issue is.
