I'm completely lost when it comes to math..& what I'm about to ask might be soo simple but I didn't wanna get a head ache trying to figure it out...
Anyways I'm planning a trip to visit my brother in prison with my nieces (his daughters)
3 of us
gas is \$4.39 a gallon
And the place is 3 hours away
Plus 3 hours back....
Our rental car is Chevy Malibu

Soo it would be less expensive we're gonna split the cost of gas

Soo my question is how much will we have to spend on gas?
& if I'm renting the car & paying for it (\$60 a day) do you think it's fair for me not to have to pay for gas?

How many miles round trip and how many miles per gallon does the car get?

132\$ round trip if you fill up twice.

And I'd just add the price of the car rental and gas and then divide by 3, so you all pay the same amount.

What do you mean dont think its fair for you to not pay gas? You have to pay of you rent a car.. That's just common sense.

Assume 30mpg for a new Chevy Malibu.

310 miles will use just over 10 gallons of gas. So, about \$45 in gas for the round trip.

If you're paying \$60 for the car, then they can pony up \$23/person for gas.
