We are currently looking for a destination wedding venue. I want to get married on the beach. My fiancĂ© is a history buff as well, so a place w historic importance would be great.
We are looking for a place that wont break the bank and we don't need passports for.
Any ideas ladies?

Key West, Florida.  Gorgeous, historical, think Ernest Hemingway.

Wilmington Nc?
The USS Wilmington is there and you can tour it- loads of history and fascinating things about the ship
And Wilmington is pure bliss.

If he is a history buff, you can't beat the nation's oldest city!

Thanks ladies, i thought of the Keys first, and he picked st Augustine. Guess i had my heart set on Belize or Bermuda ( something more exotic) but i guess thats a lot more money for things we can find closer to home. :)

I don't like bikini, Miami type beaches, but I LOVE capri, light sweater, lighthouse and amazing ships type beaches! I'd love to go to Cape Cod someday and PP posted a site for Cape May which looks lovely. I live in MN so Duluth is the closest to me which is BEAUTIFUL in October.
