Detroit cutting off water?

I was listening to the radio this morning and heard that the city of Detroit has shut the water off for thousands? Of people unable to pay their water bill due to bad economic circumstances.

A group of Canadians have gone to Detroit with 1000 litre of water and are apparently protesting the shut off as a breach of human rights

Anyone know anything?

What do u think about this situation?

Water is an essential for living, as such do you think this is extreme?

Water is necessary to live, I don't think it should have been shut off. I don't know the entire story either, just what this post has.

I'd have to see what the deal is before making a decision here.  Even though water is a neccessity bills must be paid.

I think they should have been cutting the water off long before now. The problem is the fact that they let this go on for so long and now people have no idea how to cope. I feel bad for the people without water but that water doesn't make it to your home for free.

Don't pay no service. Been there done that and never felt the need to protest or anything.

People on this country need to start finding a way to stand on their own instead of expecting handouts and bail outs.

If they want the clean and treated water the city pays for they should pay too. If they want free water they can collect rain water or go to a river.
