So worried

My 2.5 year old got the stomach flu on Wednesday and he couldn't hold anything down. Yesterday he only threw up twice but slept on and off throughout the day and slept all night. Today is the same thing and I'm worried that something is really wrong. Should I take him to the ER or just wait it out for a few more days? He's not running a fever and still has wet diapers. I just don't know what to do help

I would call his doctor and ask for advice.

If he's not running a fever, and hydrated.. I wouldn't.

No fever...give it a little time, and just keep tending to him. Though you might want to call his doctor, given that it is Friday, and you won't be able to see the doc over the weekend.

A friend of mine vommited with no fever for a few days and his mom never took him to the doctor. He ended up passing away from juvenile diabetes 5 days after he first got sick. Better safe than sorry.

With little ones you can never be sure. Call the doc and make an appointment.

I wouldn't.

My oldest came down with a stomach bug toward the end of the last school year.  He threw up for a full day, and ended up being sleepy and lethargic for the next 2 or so.

As long as your little one is hydrated and not running a fever, I wouldn't be too worried.  Sometimes sleeping or resting is the best way to recover from a bug.

Is there anything I can give him. So he gets something in his system?
