I'm feeling a lil depressed and don't think a glass of wine is the answer b/c alcohol is actually a depressant, right? Just looking to take the edge off....

It is, but if your depression is stress related, it could help.

Well, alcohol isn't an answer to anything, but it would probably take the edge off ;)

However, "depressant" is merely just a term used to describe how it slows or reduces your body's functioning, rather than speeding it up or increasing it (that would be a stimulant).

It's a physical depressant, opposite to caffeine, which is a stimulant. How it affects you emotionally varies person to person.

Yes it is but one (or even 2) glass will be fine

The term "depressant" refers to how it affects the systems of your body, not your mood. However, some people do find that it increases a depressed mood, other people find that it does not.

alcohol is a depressant, but not in the way you are thinking, it being categorized as a depressant mainly speaks on it's ability to slow down you system and make you less energetic and sleepy.

I already have no energy so maybe that's not the answer. Thanks.
