Was the title dramatic much? Now that I got your attention, I got asked a question about my daughter who is mixed race. "Are we related or what?" My daughter is 14 years old & I have never been asked that ever!!!! Ever!!!!!! I was shocked I was asked that twice by 2 different people today at the specialist office. I said that's my daughter & that I thought we looked alike lol. I was surprised to be asked that because we are at a specialist for her & I did check off in the box on the form that I am her mother. We live in an area where it's common sight to see mixed races so yes I was surprised to be asked that.

I've always been asked if I'm the mother when seeing new doctors despite my kids' race.

My dad used to get that ALL the time.

Carrying around two black babies with him and my mom being white.

He would just make comments like...

"The milk man used to come around a lot."

and

"Don't you see the family resemblance?"

Just laugh it off mama.

Not me. I was surprise because it was that look they made when I said that's my daughter.

I've been asked like 5 times by random people and my dd is only a year old. But mixed babies aren't very common here.

I could understand the not common around here part. Where we live, it's very common.

I've been asked that once with DS, but most people just assume I'm his mom, no questions asked.
