My brother has been staying with us for a month and a half. Friday and Saturday he gets drunk. I tell him to stay out until hes ready to sleep. He usually comes back 2-4 in the morning. The first two weekends I tried to be respectful and quiet but now hes expecting it. And I am tired of it. He knows we wake up at 5:30-6 am each morning (thats sleeping in for my tots lol) and he needs to make better choices. Its almost 10 and hes still trying to sleep and bitching about the tv and kids playing. But Im feeling ILL!! He says.... Well stop doing what causes you to be ill!!! Its no secret!
But its not fair to expect the kids to stay in their bedroom all day because you cant sleep at a normal time. He sleeps on the couch.

Only 2 more weeks before he goes home. Hope it goes quick.

Also hes not too considerate and quiet when he comes home even though we ask with the door slamming and midnight dinners.

I would feel different if he was really sick or out late for a real reason

Theres always an excuse with him when I suggest that "the colors in there are too noisy" has been the recent one

I would tell hIm that he can either deal with your household schedule or leave

Yeah, he needs to get over it. Life around him doesn't stop because he's hungover! lol

Tell him you can keep everyone quiet until a specific time (like 8 or 9:00) but after that he is own his own. If he can't take it, maybe he should get a room to sleep it off in.

Yep, nope! He's SOL! You want quiet to recover from over indulgence, make sure you're in your own home!

   He sounds lovely ;)

Surround yourself with people that add to your life not subtract from it.

I would not adjust my home and routine to meet the needs of a drunk. Your house, your rules. If he doesn't like it, find another place to live. He needs to be respectful to you for giving him a place to live. I'd show him the door.
