I calculated things like food, housing, utilities, transportation, clothes and activities and health care. It came out to $2197 a month for four kids.

1 mom liked this

This is something I've never calculated, and don't even think I could begin to.

I only have one child, he's 18. I dare say I've spent a small fortune on him through the years. I know I've spent a lot, and I'm good with that. It's one of the reasons I only had one child.

Hm. I don't know. He's itty bitty but he blows through food and clothes like it's going out of style lol

So,9 cans of soy formula at 13$ a piece. A few outfits a month at about 8$ per set. Diapers 25$ a box baby food is really cheap and I buy about 30 a month at like a buck a piece. So not too much yet.

Our finances haven't changed much since having DS but he is only 2.5. I cloth diaper, breast feed and made his food from what we ate.. To date I've spent $1750 on just him... Our grocery budget hasn't changed.. The above amount is the initial cloth diapers (about $300) and clothing, hygiene products
And some toys. We use all wooden or natural material toys and many my DH or myself make for him. The wood is from scrap wood from my DH's job so no money out of pocket and I get raw materials to make other things by bartering with a co-op.. I make toys for them to sell and I get raw materials in return (yarn, felt etc...)
