Does your kid do this?

If someone brushes up against him he says oww. Even when it doesn't hurt, basically any unwanted or 'surprise' touch he says oww to. I thought at first it was a sensory disorder but I don't think that's it.

Is that normal? He's 5 but has been doing this since he was 3

It sounds like an attention seeking behaviour that has become a habit. Have you talked to him about it?

1 mom liked this
I'm 31 and I do that all the time and I always have.

I don't like to be touched unless it's invited touch.
Saying oww to me is how my brain receives the unwanted touch.

I have, i explained oww is for when you're hurt and to use other words to express he doesn't want to be touched. He understands he just continues to do it, I've also tried ignoring it when he says oww and he's not hurt.
