Yep... your body makes the milk. Therefore what you eat and drink matters

Really?

Because my OBGYN who is considered the foremost in her field in this country said a glass of wine a few times a week while breastfeeding was no big deal.

I think I'll go with her and her fancy doctorate degree over some random person.

No. You can. You just have to pay attention and be cautious. You can't do shots and nurse an hour later. You have to give your body time to metabolize the alcohol out of your system. A beer or a wine cooler is fine, but the stronger the drink the longer it takes.

Yep, it' called feeding the baby and what you eat and drink comes out in milk.

I breastfeed and I still enjoy a beer or a class of wine from time to time.

I certainly wouldn't do it. Why risk poisoning my child for a drink? Then again, I don't like to drink anyway.

That's not true. It's perfectly fine to drink some wine or have a beer. Safe to drive, safe to nurse.

Depends on who youre asking. Some say no never, some say yes as long as you pump and dump and others say you can drink just don't breastfeed until you're sober.

No you didn't. You got that from one or two perspectives. Do whatever your little heart desires.
