F***ing idiot teenagers plus a question about grammar

A Harris County teenager was taken to the hospital on Wednesday after lighting himself on fire while participating in a dangerous game that is trending on social media.

Harris County emergency medical technicians found the boy, 14, with burns across his body in the 4400 block of Roving Meadows Lane in northeast Harris County, authorities said. Information about the seriousness of his injuries was not immediately available.

The boy told investigators he was playing a game called "Fire Challenge." The teen poured isopropyl alcohol on himself while standing in the shower, then lighted the alcohol, said Lt. Dean Hensley, of the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.

"This activity is very dangerous, and could leave lasting scars or permanent injuries," Fire Marshal Mike Montgomery said in a news release.

There have been reports of other burn injuries across the country from the game. A 15-year-old boy in Buffalo, N.Y., reportedly died.

My grammar question, is lighted the correct word in the third paragraph or should it be lit?

Lit sounds better but I think this is a case where lighted is correct....

I watched a video of a guy doing that challenge.

I also saw the video of the girl throwing boiling water on her brother.

Pretty damn stupid!
