DH is now looking for a new job

He has been at this job for awhile where he is already making s**t for money but they said that he would get $1 raise at his 3 month review and another $1 raise at his yearly review. Well he just got his three month review, after working there for 8 months, and they gave him a 30 cent raise. So just, no. It was bad enough that it took them 5 months to get to his 3 month review but now they are seriously going to give him a POS "raise". Nope.

They told him that when they signed him up because they were, and still are, desperate for people to work for them and they said $1 raise when he was 3 months in. Told him to get it in writing but he doesn't listen.

You have to watch those kinds of promises. They usually say something like "up to" a particular dollar amount then "depending on review" or "depending on performance".

Thing is his performance is phenomenal. He is always there early and always stays late and does all the extra for them. He has always been this way with jobs though and always ends up on the receiving end of the screwing over.

My husband just did the same thing. He was promised a huge raise once his job opened their new location and that was over a year ago now. They promised so much more and have never followrd through and have started treating him horribly. The good news for us is that the new job pays way more than the old one which is awesome but sucks he has to start over.

Well that sounds like crap. Hopefully his next job leaves room for serious growth. Good luck.

Well, they do say, things that sound too good to be true, usually are. They may be desperate for people to work there because they don't treat their employees well.

It's not uncommon to be given a salary increase after a probationary period is over.

Yep. And DH always gets super nervous about getting a new job and starting over at a new place but once he settles in he doesn't want to leave.
