Not everyone can. For instance. Last year my dd was 5'2 and 85lbs .now she is 5'5 and 112. Yea she can't reuse. My son was 4'2 and 60lbs and now he is 4'5 and 85lbs and his pants last year was khaki have holes in thw knees. Last year both kids had uniforms neither will this year.

Shoes same thing. My sons shoes wasn't fitting him at the end of the year he was a size 2 now he is a size 4. My dd went from a size 6 to 7..

Not everyone can reuse school clothes

Edit:
My kids had a growth spurt during the summer..

Edit

my kiddo gets new shoes every couple months because she wears them down to the point they are falling apart usually within the year. Clothes however we buy a size or two larger so they last longer. so most of her clothes she can still wear this year uniforms we only had to replace one shirt and one skirt and got an extra pants just in case. we go through her clothes twice a year before school and after christmas (6 months) and donate or take to a second hand store that gives us credit so we can buy other clothes from the place. but yeah some times kids hit a growth spurt and then a whole new wardrobe is needed

My kids school let out at the beginning of june and yea my dd was 95lb when school let out she gained to 112 over the summer. My son his khaki were high waters at the end of the year but instead of buying new I didn't because i knew I would have to when school started back.

Quoting MrsDavidB25:

So they gained 20 pounds in 2 months? What were they wearing when school was still in session in June?

It called a growth spurt and my son has always been stocky but he isn't fat.

Quoting Anonymous:

Have you asked your doctor about his weight gain? That is a really heavy 4'5.

Well some kids can. My son didn't grow much. He is wearing the same size as last year. He just got a little taller. I bought a couple new shirts and pants cuz he wore out the knees in his old ones.

A growth spurt would mean growing equally in height. 85 lbs is very heavy for 4'5.

I love when random strangers call me Dear :)
You just came across as angry in your post.
And now snarky in your reply.
You sound like you could use a glass of wine 🍷

*shrugs* it depends on the kid and how much they have grown. There are a handful of things my kids can reuse, but there is also a lot they can't.

Or reuse school supplies and book bags. At the end of the school year my children's binder are falling apart, and so are their book bags.

Its hard to reuse things when they grow so fast.
