If your child is invited to a birthday party at a place that gives out tickets

Are you supposed to give the birthday kid your child's tickets even if you bought the tokens used to win the tickets?

We were invited to a birthday party at chuck e cheese and each kid got 5 tokens. I bought my son more tokens and he ended up with 400 tickets. The mother of the birthday kid tried to take the bag my sons tickets were in for her son and when I took it back and told her no she got upset and told me protocol was that her child gets all the tickets earned at the birthday party. I have never heard of such a thing and told her that while we walked away. She continued to bad mouth me to the other parents there and we left soon afterwards.

No. I wouldn't expect my kids to get their guests' tickets. But I'm trying to raise kids that aren't spoiled or entitled. She was in the wrong.

I've never heard of that and we certainly didn't expect it when we did a party at Peter Piper's Pizza.

If she had the party at an art studio (pottery, painting, etc.) would she expect everyone to give her kid the art they made? No, because that's crazy. The point of the party was to have fun making something, just like the point of a party at Chuck E Cheese is to play games and win (mostly lame, lol) prizes.

My SIL did this (my three were the only kids at the party) so we gave her 100 tickets and saved the rest. I thought it was ridiculous and rude.
