The game of clue- piss edition

Ever since we statutes fostering this new dog, we have been finding little wet spots on all the carpet. We assumed it was the cat cease cats are known to do that kind of thing. This morning however, we see our dog actually pissing on the carpet. It's a much bigger puddle than the previous ones.

So now we're wondering, has it all been the dog? Do we punish her? She really old and dumb. Just saying.

There could be an issue with the dog if she's really old.
Also how did you not know it was the dog? Cat piss has a VERY distinctive odor lol

You can't punish her for something she did earlier.  She won't know why you're yelling, just that you are.

If she's old, it's probably an incontinence problem.

Take her to the vet and see if they can figure out what's wrong.

True, but I thought maybe it wasn't piss, maybe it was some other kind of liquid.

Oh I wouldn't punish her after the fact.  I meant if I saw her doing it, should I reprimand her?

Not unless you know for sure she is doing it out of spite or something.

You should take her to the vet to get looked at.  Because she's old it might be a bladder or kidney problem.

Dogs typically don't just suddenly start peeing every where unless they have an issue.

Well it's not really suddenly. We haven't been fostering very long.
