I wish school was year round. Do you? Why or why not?

We do a lot of homework over the summer. But, we all enjoy the break.

I work with my kids during the summer. So no, I don't think school should be year round.

My kids have learned more over the summer than they did in the school year lol. Weakened my faith in the school system lol.

No, we enjoy summer time. I still read, do educational activities and do work so she moves forward not back

Not really. I like the big chuck of summer I have home with my kids. I keep my DD reading and practicing flash cards.

No. I enjoy summer as does my son. I would hate year round school.

The school I graduated from is going to what they call a "balanced schedule" to keep kids in all year. They have more days in class, less time off. As a kid who grew up with parents in two states, I want to know what happens to ncps who have 6 week summer visits? I know my dad struggled to pay the plane tickets for the summer visit and one week winter visit, are those parents now supposed to take their visits four times a year vs. two? Thats a lot of airfare. Not to mention, when would cp take the kid anywhere? I think it should have been left alone. I already had to take my kid to school in July...

No way. Some of us actually expand our children's minds during break. I am, constantly, teaching my son.
