My dog is 6 years old, Shes not feeling good, She has had the runs all day and i looked outside while she was going and she had a little bit of blood dripping out. So she will be seeing the vet tomorrow. Her poo is also mucus looking. Can i give her anything to eat that will be easy on her belly? Like maybe rice? And i have some beef baby food also a turkey dinner baby food. Any ideas on what it could be? Shes been sleeping all day too.  sad

Pedialyte would be good.

Blood in stool is usually parvo.

Rice is always a good choice for a dog with tummy issues. If you want, you can add a little chicken. I wouldn't do the baby food.

Pumpkin may also help.

1 mom liked this

Blood in stool and mucus sounds like irritated bowels. My dog once at a christmas ham. The entire thing. She had bloody mucus filled diahhrea for days from the irritation. bland chicken and rice is what the vet had me feed her for a week.

In a 6 year old dog who has all her shots? Can they get it at that age?

Give her white rice and water and pepto or imodium.

It's most common in puppies but it's extremely contagious and an adult dog can get it.

Pumpkin puree, chicken, and rice are usually good for stomach issues with dogs. I hope she's ok! Please update after she sees the vet.

Plain yogurt or cottage cheese could help with diarreah. If his stomach is upset, he may not want to eat anything, though. Hope he feels better soon!

Sounds like she ate somethin' that didn't agree with her. I've dealt with parvo a lot and no, this doesn't sound like it at all. Rice is good, no baby food. Good luck tomorrow and I hope she feels better!
