That babies are boring in the beginning. Obviously they can't crawl, walk, etc... but I just remembered being surprised by how much he slept.

This and that its ok not to be super mom and let my mom watch the baby while I napped.

That Breast feeding is torture and it's ok to decide to formula feed.

That you don't need to force them on a schedule so early regardless of what their prick of s pedi says that they will wake up if they are hungry.
Also that laying them on their tummies doesn't make you a bad mom nor does it mean your child WILL die. You just have to be cautious if you do it.

Nothing. I came into it with my eyes wide open. If anything, it would have been, "newborns are not the sucky part of parenting", but even then, I would not have listened.

Check their socks for strands of hair.  Mine got a strand of my hair in his sock in the washer or dryer, that's my best guess anyway, it wrapped around his toe so tightly I couldn't get it off and we ended up in the ER.

Oh god this. I cried for a week straight when I couldn't bf my dd because I got so many horrible snotty comments from nurses and doctors and other mother's. I felt like such a failure.
