a Caucasion family adopting an African American child (5 years+) in the same state (adoption through foster care)?

Is it supposed to be different if it's an out of state child?

I don't think anything but congratulations.

I mean, I am only considering domestic adoption, not international - is all.

I think the same as any adoptive parents: awesome for adopting and extra points if it's through the foster system.

1 mom liked this

DH & I are caucasion and have 2 African children.  We occasionally get looks, but we really don't care what other people think.  Our kids are happy.  But make sure you're comfortable with it before you go through with it - if you're uncomfortable, other people and your kids will pick up on that.
