Ex husband drops daughter off with a few hundred bucks to give me?

This was pretty random, our divorce wasn't "nasty" or anything. More mutual really... Usually he drops her off and that's that. But dd walked in and said "dad said to give you this." $700 wadded up in a rubber band. No idea why I'm tempted to text and ask but idk... Wtf is he attempting? I work and do ok... He spoils her with electronics and clothes so I'm considering that.

Just say "hey thanks for the money, any reason for it?" Keep it nice but still ask. Better to be safe then sorry later right.

Just take it and don't ask, you don't want him attaching strings

I agree with the thank you and then just ask if he had a specific item in mind.

Ask if maybe your DD asked for something and he is helping by pitching in? That way he has a reason for giving an explanation.

Maybe for school supplies and new school clothes.
