This year I won't be getting up with my kids before school.

Last year they bitched the whole year about how they didnt need their mom baby sitting them every morning. They dont need me in the mornings but I felt weird at least not saying goodbye in the morning

Well the last month of school they sat me down for an "intervention" telling me that I needed to chill out and let them go to school on their own

So this year I am going to. I know they can do it so it isnt a big deal but it will be sad not saying goodbye every morning

Awwww :/

How old are they?

I feel weird too if I don't at least see them set foot onto the bus.

Ask them to come say goodbye to you before they head off.

Well, make that part of the stipulation. They can get ready to go but they have to come in and say goodbye to mom.

And then you sit your happy, free butt on the couch and enjoy a cup of coffee every morning and celebrate your children taking the initiative and being confident in their abilities to get themselves ready independent of you. :)

Even if mine was old enough for that...
I still have to drive him the mile and a half to the bus stop.

That will be the day when my kids tell me what to do. Not only do I get up with them, i will also be bringing them to/from school.

Be proud. They are becoming responsible teens.
