he or she looks trashy. uneducated. why allow a child open herself/himself up to ridicule like that? especially in the elementary school years?

Do toddlers count ? My son had light light blonde hair. Before we cut his hair at age 2 he looked like he had a mullett.

I don't think some children in elementary school have much say so in how their parents have them get their hair cut. So to call a little kid trashy is just dumb.

Agreed!  But this post will bring out the butt hurt in some that will say it's okay to let your kid look like a hot mess because they are "expressing" themselves.

I'd nickname it The Phantom Mullet and serenade them with the Five Iron Frenzy song, phantom mullet, every morning to wake them up. It'd be pretty freaking awesome actually.

Ugh. I hate mullets. But my babies' hair grows weird so they have a mullet from about 18 months to 3 years. I was so happy when my older daughters finally grew out.
