Has anyone discussed with their kids HOW Robin Williams passed?

my twins are 9 next month. We unfortunately have had to have the suicide discussion due to a family member threatening to end their life. Thankfully, she got help, but the kids needed to know what was going on. I did explain to them about Mr. Williams and stressed the importance of open communication, mental health and to speak up if someone confided in them that they might harm themselves.

Did any of you tell your kids how Mr. Williams died? How old are your kids?

I told my 8 year old robin williams killed himself. He asked how I told him he hung himself. My son looked up to Robin Williams because he is bipolar also.

No because they don't know who he is yet. They're 7 and 6.

No. There was no reason to. She doesn't really care about celebrity deaths anyway. She's 6.

I told my daughter he died but not how. She didn't even know who he was. Which shocked me but I didn't feel like it was necessary to go into tha.

My 9yo asked what suicide is when she read the article about him. I explained it to her, and she was quite upset. She said but Mrs. Doubtfire looked so happy. I love her innocence.
