Question for moms of boys

I have an almost 8 year old boy (oldest of 3 boys) who, no matter how much he scrubs and washes, he stinks! The only thing that I can think of is deodorant... but it just feels like 8 is just too young for that. So I have 2 questions. What age was your DS when he started using deodorant? What is a good brand to start with?

My boys are 10 and 8 and dont use deoderant.

Is this maybe a medical issue? When does he smell, all the time, just after playing outside? Within an hour of bathing?

I got him one of those combo packs....deodrant, shampoo, soap and spray.  I agree....boy start to stink at that age, especially if they are active boys.  Now could you explain that to my MIL and FIL.

Let him pick one out that he likes. (Smell)

Totally normal for a boy and girl to need it at that age.

I guess I'm lucky. My son smells good after bathing.

Does your son bathe correctly? Or does he go play in the shower and not use any shampoo/soap?

Also, doesn't matter how much you shower if your surroundings and clothing and bedding stink.

Does his room need a good cleaning overhaul?

What does he eat/drink? These things can affect our odor as well.

Something as simple as dehydration, even mild dehydration can cause a bad odor.

Next question....are you sure he stinks? I ask this because we are living in a febreeze, lysol, airwick crazy country. Sometimes we forget that the natural smell of human beings is actually just that, natural.

SS had to start wearing deodorant at 7 because he would stink so bad when he sweat.  DH just made sure it wasn't that wasn't made with alcohol, I think.
