Pregnant 14 year old, essentially forced to give her baby up for adoption. WDYT?

A family friend of my parents have a 14 yo daughter. She snuck her boyfriend in some nights real late after her folks were in bed and they had sex. She got pregnant.

Her parents basically said if she kept it she was on her own. No money from them for toys, food, daycare, etc and no free childcare for the baby. They would continue to support her, but not the baby. Obviously, she's 14 and can't get a job. She reluctantly gave the baby up for adoption after a week. Her parents stand by it to this day...

I'm sure I'm going to get quoted a million fucking times for this, but why should her parents have to support her kid? She can't even work at fourteen, it shouldn't fall on them to financially support her and a baby they didn't choose to have.

Good for them. Kids shouldn't be having kids if they can't care for them.

They were right. They shouldn't have to support their grandkid.
