My neighbor runs a day care out of her house. she is a wonderful kind lady. Sometimes she asks my daughter to help her. dd is 12. with things like dd will walk one of the daycare kids home from the bus stop. or she will go over and watch the kids for 30 minutes while day care lady runs and errand. my dd loves it. that is fine. however now daycare lady wants my dd to watch the kids from 12:00 to 3:30 so she can go out to lunch with her friend. there are 3 kids ages 2.4 and 6.
my dd is very good with kids, but If I was the parent who hired a daycare to watch my kids I would expect her to watch them and not hire a. 12 yr old. .. what do you think? would you be ok if your daycare lady left your kids with a 12 year old to go out to lunch.

That's illegal in my state if it's a licensed daycare.....

No way on earth would I be ok with that. I am paying for her services, not someone else's.

Does she pay your dd for the things she has been doing?

No. I wouldn't even be happy with it if she was just randomly running errands leaving another child to care for my kid without letting me know either. I want to know who is caring for my child when I am paying for that service.

I wouldn't be ok with her leaving for an errand or taking the kids home from the bus stop either.

If I'm paying for daycare, I expect a daycare provider, not a 12 yr old.
